APPROACH TO HEALTHCARE:

Dana is a board-certified Adult/Geriatric Primary Care nurse practitioner with extensive experience in the acute care setting. She began her career working as an ICU nurse for five years prior to completing her advanced training to become a Nurse Practitioner. She then spent four years working as a hospitalist APN within the St. Clare’s Health System before transitioning into urology in 2019. Her experience working as an ICU nurse and as a hospitalist has given her a broad wealth of knowledge that she is able to utilize when caring for her urologic patients. Years of hospital based general medicine has allowed her to hone in on the importance of treating the “whole” patient. By effectively communicating and collaborating with all members of the healthcare team, Dana ensures that her patient’s needs and concerns (both urologic and non-urologic) are addressed.

Dana believes in the importance of slowing down and taking the time to get to know her patients. Healthcare, especially in the acute care setting, can often feel rushed. Dana strives to make her patients feel that their concerns are being heard, and she prides herself if helping her patients and their families truly understand their diagnoses and the plan of care.
